Block color study

Block studies are a great way to study color effects. This is a wet-on-wet pointillist color study in warm light.

  1. I love his, even though it's 'only a study'...there's an air of Morandi about it. Wonderful.

  2. Cheers. Once past the hurdle of basic color understanding, the block study is a superb way to practice color observation and different methods of painting those observations because it requires less exact drawing and the form is more rudimentary thus allowing you to put more emphasis on color. It's quite fascinating really.
